Charity Swim Volunteer Recruitment

Charity Swim is looking for volunteers to be part of their safety crew for their event Charity Swim 2011.
Volunteers will be on canoes and accompany the swimmers in the water.
Each volunteer will be tagged to a swimmer and they will spot for emergency situations and call for help where needed.

Charity Swim 2011, 13 November 2011, Sunday, 9am
On their part, they will be providing $35 each volunteer to cover their transport and their lunch, as well as insurance coverage for each individual.

Canoeing Expedition FAQ

Some of you might have some queries regarding the expedition. Here are some FAQs.

1. How long is the expedition route?
Ans: The total distance is around 16km.

2. What boats will the participants be using?
Ans: All participants will be using slalom kayaks and will be in doubles.

3. Can I bring my own boat?
Ans: Unfortunately, no. All participants will have to use our equipment.

4. The expedition is from Sembawang Park to Pasir Ris Beach. So the starting point and ending point is different?
Ans: Yes. The expedition will end at Pasir Ris Beach and we will dismiss from there.

5. How do I get to the location?
Ans: We will be posting the details regarding the directions to and from the locations.

6. I wish to drive to the expedition. However the ending point is at Pasir Ris Beach, do you provide transportation back to the starting location?
Ans: No, we do not provide transportation back to the starting point. If you intend to drive there, you will have to provide your own transportation back.

7. How do we take care of our belongings?
Ans: Participants will deposit their belongings with us and we will transport the belongings to the ending point.

8. What happens if it rains on the actual day?
Ans: We will proceed in the case of drizzle or light rain. However if the visibility is affected or if there is lightning risk, we will not proceed. We will wait for the rain to subside until we reach our cut off timing, upon which, we will have to cancel the expedition.

9. In what case will there be a refund?
Ans: Refunds are only provided if the organizers cancel the expedition prior to the actual day of expedition. Otherwise, we will not provide any refunds.
